Emmerdale viewers were quick to slam Paddy and Mandy’s scene as they accused show bosses of ‘fat shaming.’
Since Paddy found out about Chas’s affair with late Al Chapman, viewers have seen him struggle as he tries to move on.
Last night Paddy rejected Mandy as she offered him a shoulder to cry on but during tonight’s episode of the ITV soap it seems things have changed as he confided in Mandy and admitted he has been feeling lost since his split.

Paddy decided to get stuck into paperwork at the surgery after Chas took Eve away for the night. Rhona encouraged him to take the rest of the day off since she was doing the same.
He decided to take her up on her offer and later bumped into Mandy. He took the opportunity to open up to her and asked why he was feeling so lonely if he was spending most of his time with his loved ones.
The pair shared a bottle of wine and it wasn’t long before they got drunk and started reminiscing on past their relationship.
The pair spent the afternoon laughing and sharing jokes together which lead to Mandy admitting that she still "fancied the pants" off Paddy.
Things got steamy between the former lovers as they fell into each other's arms and appeared to share a kiss.
However some viewers accused show writers of ‘fat shaming’ Mandy and Paddy as they made their reunion funny instead of romantic. Meanwhile others were pleased to see the pair back together.
@maitra_sulagna Tweeted: “Why does romance between fat people always have to be funny? Why can't it be fun, tender and sensual? I will bet you anything the script would have been very different if Charity and Cain were rekindling their relationship #Emmerdale #DontMindMeFeelingB***** Today.”
@aaron_dingles commented: “Why are Mandy and Paddy not boding over the fact they're both dirty cheats too #emmerdale.”
@BiffenGlenn wrote: “Right, for those doing the vomiting stuff, Mandy & Paddy had a thing going on over twenty years ago; they're the oldies and goodies of Emmerdale and it works. I'm so pleased for them and to have them back #Emmerdale.”
@amelia121299 commented: “Paddy is meant to be with Mandy, I always thought he and Chas was an odd pairing. #Emmerdale.”
@TwellyWatcher said: “Paddy and Mandy were always meant to be #Emmerdale has one of the best on-screen relationships.”
While @gffcontwitch added: “Comedy gold, I forgot how funny Mandy and paddy were #Emmerdale.”
