Emmerdale viewers were left heartbroken on Thursday evening as Faith Dingle contemplated her life coming to an end.
The fan favourite broke down in tears during the latest instalment of the ITV soap as she realised she could be dead in less than a month.
During a chat with a nurse, she admitted: "It's exhausting, always having to be Faith Dingle," as the healthcare professional tried to encourage her to speak to her children Chas and Cain a bit more.
"These people love you Faith, maybe try and open up to them a little bit at a time," she told her before Faith asked: "Is this the end?"
"It's not the end but your cancer is progressing," she replied as Faith then asked: "Is it gonna be terrible?"
"No," the nurse informed her as Faith panicked: "What if I'm in great pain and I can't tell anybody because my brain has gone?"
The nurse reassured Faith that she won't be left in pain and she'll be surrounded by care, before urging her to make the most of the time she has left.
"Who wouldn't want more time? At least you know yours is precious, don'r underestimate that gift," she said as Faith started looking forward to Eve's birthday in a month.
However, the smile was soon wiped from her face when she noticed the nurse's face.
"A month?" she said as her voice broke.
"Like I've said before, there's no way of estimating how things will go," the nurse replied as Faith started crying.
"If you've got plans, why not bring them forward a bit so you're really well enough to enjoy them," the nurse added.
The highly emotional scenes had viewers in tears as they took to Twitter to comment.
One person posted: "Seeing Faith declining is breaking me # Emmerdale."
