Emmerdale viewers raised questions as to why David was forced to close his shop to babysit.
David was put in the awkward situation of closing the shop after his and Victoria's babysitter cancelled last minute. He initially questioned why he had to take the financial fall but was told no one else would be able to take care of the situation on such short notice.
Making his way to the store, he complained about the lost income he would suffer. Several of the village residents tried to make purchases whilst he was in the shop but were abruptly turned away.

David's decision raised questions online as to why he had to close down in the first place. Viewers agreed he was able to babysit and run the store simultaneously which left them baffled why he didn't if his primary concern was income.
One viewer said: "David moans that the shop is going under but shuts. Why can’t the kids just sit at the table. He annoys me."
Another added: "David with his panic of not making any money...only to have a meltdown when customers turn up!"
Whilst a third said: "Yes David is a pain but Victoria shouldn't be asking him to close the shop either."
A final added: "David only has customers when he closes shop."
David was forced to deal with a rogue customer that barged her way in despite the freshly placed 'closed' sign. While dealing with the last-minute sale, Harry, who was in David's care, injured his head off-camera, which led to an unhappy Victoria.
