Emmerdale's Manpreet Sharma will face a tough time in court on the ITV soap, as upcoming scenes see her face her evil sister Meena Jutla.
Actress Rebecca Sarker has revealed her character will find her lies and her past returning to haunt her, as Meena turns nasty.
Meena finally faces trial for her crimes, despite her not guilty plea last month, and Manpreet is tasked with testifying against her.
But as she prepares to take her killer sister down, Meena is playing a twisted game of her own in a bid to get Manpreet sent to prison alongside her for a crime she didn't commit.
While Manpreet knows Meena will do anything she can to destroy her publicly, she might not be prepared for what Meena and her legal team have up their sleeves.
Speaking to The Mirror and other press, actress Rebecca confirmed her character's past and the lies she has told, possibly including the truth about Meena's fall and the texts sent to Ethan's phone, will come back to haunt her.
She said of Manpreet's expectations: "She knows those weapons are in Meena’s armour and that Meena will throw anything at her to favour her case.
"The sisters know each other inside out really, she's aware and she's trying to prepare herself for what happens. To be so publicly exposed in court is a triggering experience for her."
As Manpreet falls apart and things don't go to plan, she faces a tough interrogation all the more worsened by Meena gloating nearby.
Of the scenes and the turmoil they will bring, Rebecca went on: "It's very triggering, you've got to remember the last time Manpreet saw her sister was in prison, after Meena accused her of being involved with Andrea's death, and she's no stranger to Meena’s machinations.
"So it is still extremely upsetting and emotional for her, and that is her little sister standing just a few feet away from her so it's maybe not so much a conflict in emotions, but it's very, very triggering and overwhelming."
Manpreet initially decided she would not testify against her sister, as she feared what she would face in court.
But determined to get justice for her victims, including Nadine, Leanna Cavanagh, Ben Tucker and Andrea Tate, she decides to go through with it - but will she regret it?
