Emmerdale star Martelle Edinborough has updated fans on her recovery after undergoing an operation for a brain aneurysm.
Martelle Edinborough, who plays Suzy Merton in Emmerdale, posted from her hospital bed about the procedure. Taking to Twitter, she said: “A few weeks ago I was told an existing brain aneurysm thought to always be tiny and stable had in fact always been of a size that needed treatment.”
Martelle continued: “Not sure where the error occurred for it to take so long to highlight this but despite the initial shock, I could only receive it as a blessing and refused to allow it manifest into fear, stress and anxiety.

“Yesterday, I had surgery where doctors were able to amazingly and successfully treat the aneurysm, placing a flow diverter in the artery to cut the off the blood supply to it, soon enabling it to disappear for good.”
Martelle has praised the NHS and the support she’s received. The acting star has also told fans she will soon return to work on Emmerdale.
Although, in the meantime, many viewers have told her to rest and focus on her recovery. On Twitter, @nickwood39 said: “You are truly unbeatable! You’re strong, inspiring, and the queen of the emoji.”
