Former Emmerdale star Anthony Quinlan has hinted at a return to TV after admitting he would love to star in rival ITV soap Coronation Street.
The actor previously played farmer Pete Barton in the hit ITV soap Emmerdale but quit the role in 2020.
While on the show his character Pete was involved in a number of drama-filled storylines including being in a love triangle with his brother Ross Barton and Debbie Dingle.
He worked on Moira Dingle's farm and was one of the first people to discover her affair with Nate Robinson.
Despite leaving Emmerdale Anthony has not shut down the idea of soap acting and revealed he would love to appear in Corrie. Speaking to OK! magazine, he spoke about his desire to make an appearance on rival soap Coronation Street as a regular resident.
He said: "I think for me Coronation Street is the one I’d love to do. I’m a Manchester boy, it’s literally on my doorstep – I’m still in Manchester so, I would love to do Corrie. Corrie is a great show."
He continued: "At some point in my career, I’d like to tick that one off one hundred per cent. Whether it would be an episode here and there or a regular character, who knows. But at some point, it’s got to be done."
Anthony first appeared in Emmerdale in 2013 where he was introduced as Moira Dingle's nephew - her late husband John was Pete's uncle. During his time in the village, his younger brother Finn died and James was killed by his mother Emma Barton.
Since leaving Anthony recently confirmed his relationship with Hollyoaks star Nikki Sanderson. The actress made sure to update fans on her love life and made her romance with Anthony Instagram official with a sweet birthday tribute.
The 38-year-old took to Instagram to share a loved-up selfie with Anthony as they enjoyed a romantic date night.
Nikki gushed over Anthony as she captioned the snap: “The happiest of happy birthdays to the man who makes me smile the most. I hope your day is as amazing as you are”
Away from his love life The Emmerdale star has gone on to set up his own company BoxedOff. It provides plant-based supplements and nutrition to help people with their fitness goals.
