Emmerdale fans can expect big things from the soap this year as Executive Producer Jane Hudson gave a glimpse of what is to come.
In an ITV press conference, Jane promised a big return, two possible weddings and a whole lot of drama and betrayal.
Tom King Jr is set to head back to the village and rekindle things with Belle Dingle, while another familiar face is set to make fans happy by returning to our screens.
Newcomer Faye's identity will be unveiled in a heartbreaking twist for Mary Goskirk, while Caleb Miligan has a few more bombshells to drop before Kim Tate discovers his shocking secret.
Nicky Miligan's past will also come to light which could threaten things with Gabby Thomas, while Charity Dingle finally finds out the truth about Mack and Chloe's baby.
Included in the things to come, Cain Dingle will make a grim discovery that could tear him and brother Caleb apart, while there's a special episode ahead for some characters - with Liam Cavanagh and Paddy Kirk set to take centre stage at some point.
Fans had recently been predicting certain storylines but Jane quashed the rumours before teasing other plots would run on longer than initially thought.
She told The Mirror: "There's Charity, Chloe and Mackenzie. We all know there's a big secret that is due to come out which is he's got a baby and it's Chloe's. So the question is when is it gonna come out?
"It is soon, very soon and there's a big choice for Mack. Does he want to be a dad or does he want to be a husband, and can he be both or not? And how is Charity gonna respond? We know she is fiery... can Chloe remain in that village when that secret comes out? Because we know it's not going to be nice with the wrath of the Dingles against her."
Talking about what's ahead for Caleb, she said: "We have revealed who Nicky is, there is still something else to find out but I'm not going to tell you. Not all the secrets have bene revealed yet.
"There is something else we are going to learn and there is going to be someone from Nicky's past who turns up as well and we will be left wondering what this means for Gabby.
"We know they are planning a wedding so is that going to go off? Is it not? Meanwhile, how is Cain going to react when Caleb nearly sends Moira into financial ruin, which is a whole other story that's playing out.
"So when Cain finds out his brother is responsible, how on Earth is it gonna play out when they are trying so hard to have this relationship? Is it all going to be doomed?"
Jane was then asked if Kim Tate will find out that Caleb is Frank Tate's son and go out for revenge against her, Jane said: "Soon, very, very soon. There is not long to go, it will be after the coronation but before the soap week."
On what else is ahead, Jane added: "We've got the lovely love story playing on screen for Mary and Faye. We are seeing Mary falling in love with Faye.
"It's Mary's first relationship since coming out and she's been very vulnerable, she's really put herself out there and unfortunately it's not going to be a happy ending.
"Mary is gonna have her heart broken. I think what is really relevant for this story is how easy it is to be scammed, how easy it is to be taken in and how easy it is for love to stop you thinking logically.
"No matter what age you are, we're all vulnerable of being tricked and scammed and catfished, it's a really heartbreaking story.
"We have also got Paddy's continued journey to recovery. We're playing this story with real honesty and truth. There is a very special episode coming up soon which is continuing that story about being a man who doesn't find it easy to talk, and the help and support that's out there. It's gonna be a poignant episode.
"We follow Paddy's journey as he tries to co-parent with Chas, navigating a new landscape. What will happen if new relationships start?
"We know that Paddy and Mandy have a history, and they have a more recent history, but is Paddy ready for a relationship and if he is, is Mandy the person to have that with?
"We have got a lighthearted story with Liam. There's gonna be something that will take you all by surprise. It starts off quite a fun story but at the heart of it there is something serious to come out further down the line. It's a great story, we see Liam and another character perhaps in a way we've not seen them before.
"You all know we love a summer wedding, I can tell you there is at least one more wedding coming up before the end of the summer, and we will have a familiar face returning by the end of the summer which I think fans are gonna be absolutely delighted with, as they return to the show.
"We have got plenty coming up. The returning character is coming back for one of the weddings. One of the weddings will be more traditional than Charity and Mackenzie's, there will be no A-Team wigs or vans happening."
On other big plots, she went on: "There is a long way to go with [the Rhona] story and it's one of those stories where when you think it's ended, it probably hasn't but it's a fascinating story, and I think Zoe [Henry] is a brilliant actress and we always want to find the next big story, and I think that this is Rhona's next big story and one that really captivates the viewers.
"Jimmy's nephew Tom will be coming back into the show and he has been living overseas for some time. He's back in England and is qualified as a vet, so I think we all know where he is gonna be working.
"Tom and Belle have a history, they see each other and rekindle things and we will be on a journey with Tom and Belle for some time as we play out stories for them."
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
