Emmerdale’s Matty Barton has been on the warpath on the ITV soap since learning of Suzy Merton’s connection to his sister Holly’s death.
Matty (Ash Palmisciano) previously made a pact with Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) after learning Suzy paid for the drugs that killed Holly.
While Moira ( Natalie J Robb ) was left devastated and focused on grieving in the wake of the news, Mack and Matt have been left looking for revenge.
Matty was not in the village when his sister died, as he was away in the process of transitioning.
At Holly’s grave, Moira reminded Matty that it's important to focus on and celebrate his sister’s life, urging him to forget about Suzy, but he later swore to Mack that he would get his revenge.
ITV spoilers have revealed that this comes to fruition next week on the soap, as Matty’s hopes of a counterblow to Suzy put someone in danger.
The drama kicks off next Monday, when Leyla is left alarmed as Callum turns up at Take A Vow asking her to store drugs in exchange for cash.
With Take A Vow’s financial worries growing, Leyla knows she’s crossed a line when she calls Callum to accept his job.
The next day, Leyla’s uneasy when Callum turns up with a bag of drugs much larger than the amount she agreed to store, but when he then pays her extra, she’s left unsure how to proceed.
In later scenes, Suzy’s surprised to see Callum outside Take A Vow and asks him if Leyla’s still scoring.
Gobsmacked Matty watches from afar, convinced he’s witnessing a drug deal.
Leyla lies through her teeth when Suzy asks if she’s back on cocaine but Suzy is suspicious when Leyla insists she’s kicked the habit.
Later, as Matty secretly searches Take A Vow, he’s shocked to find a large holdall of drugs. Panicking, he grabs the holdall and darts off.
The next day, Matty is determined to make Suzy take responsibility for her actions.
He’s happy with himself when takes the opportunity to plant the holdall full of drugs in Suzy’s car.
As Rhona’s hen party in the Hide gets underway, Matty’s simmering to see that Suzy has attended as well.
When irate Matty berates her, Suzy knows she isn’t welcome and she leaves.
As Suzy drives off, Matty calls the police and reports the drugs he planted in her car.
Leyla’s flustered when Callum returns to Take A Vow and she can’t find the drugs. Leyla’s terrified when Callum says he won’t be responsible for his actions if she doesn’t find the missing drugs by the end of the day.
