There's also a near-kiss for another duo who aren't together, with it teased this could lead to a new romance.
Finally, Caleb Miligan is up to no good yet again, and he could be about to push his secret son and his accomplice Nicky too far. Here's the biggest moments in the Dales for next week...
Shocking affair twist
Emmerdale's Wendy and Liam will lock lips next week as a shocking passionate affair begins.
Liam has been single since splitting from Leyla Cavanagh earlier this year amid her struggles with drugs whilst Wendy is in a relationship with Bob, with things seemingly going well for the couple.
Bob has his new business venture with Bernice but sparks seem to fly between Wendy and Liam next week, which ends up with the pair involved in a steamy kiss in the doctors' office whilst Bob and Bernice also have a near-kiss.
Next week on the ITV soap, Wendy leaves Liam overjoyed when she shares her plans for the murder mystery convention, only to find out it has been cancelled and is moved online instead.
Liam is disappointed but is touched when Wendy goes to extreme effort to try and make the night as special as possible and prepares something for him in the surgery in order to celebrate the writing award success.
There is clear chemistry between them as the pair pop open a bottle of champagne and as Liam puts the music on, it's clear the pair have eyes for one another as they dance closer and closer. Caught up in the moment after the award is given out, Liam and Wendy get passionate.
Car crash horror
Emmerdale will air a horrific car crash next week - as one character fights of their life. It comes just as Jimmy King falls out with his nephew Tom King.
His wife Nicola tells Jimmy he's done the right thing by cutting Tom out of his life as things are starting to have a big effect on everyone around them including their own family. He needs to focus on his immediately family, she tells him.
So she is less than impressed when she arrives home to see Angel waiting outside because Jimmy hasn't taken her to the dentist.
Angry, and stressed, she decides to take her herself - but things take a nasty turn when she has an accident.
As she drives towards the dentist, she ends up colliding with Moira at an unsighted junction outside the village. Both women are horrified when they look and see Angel unconscious in the back of Nicola's car, which has been badly crushed.
Are both women injured too - or is it just Angel that's taken the force of the crash? Will Angel be ok?
Caleb pushes Nicky too far?
Emmerdale 's Caleb Miligan risks pushing his secret son Nicky too far next week, which could lead to their big revenge plan being exposed.
The character encourages Nicky to move ahead with his part of the plan, with him using Gabby Thomas in a fake romance. Caleb is the secret son of Frank Tate, the ex of Kim Tate, who died on the soap from a heart attack in 1997.
Kim cruelly stood by as Frank died and didn't help him, while she also stole some of his fortune in the fallout. Caleb somehow knows all of this, or at least suspects it, and he now wants to steal everything she has as he believes it's rightfully his.
He also wants revenge on Kim for how she treated Frank, and is ready to destroy her. Gabby is the mother of Kim's grandson Thomas, so she currently has inheritance and assets from Kim for Thomas' future.
Nicky struck up a romance with Gabby to get his hands on her money, popping the question in a bid to get everything she has.
Of course viewers have seen Nicky struggling with the lie though, and no longer wanting to use Gabby.
They also know that Nicky is actually gay and has a secret lover, Ally, so the weight of his lie and faking his romance with Gabby is taking its toll.
He's admitted to Caleb he's not doing so well with everything, but Caleb remains in the dark about his son's sexuality it seems.
Next week, Caleb continues to pile on the pressure to Nicky as he wants them to get married sooner rather than later. Wanting to act fast to get the money before it's too late, Caleb tells Nicky he needs to convince Gabby to bring the wedding forward.
But will Nicky end up snapping, and could Caleb's constant pushing end up exposing their plan?
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
