Emmerdale viewers can expect the drama to continue next week, in the fallout after Al Chapman's death.
Al died in brutal scenes on Tuesday night, as his affair with Chas Dingle finally came to light.
The character was shot dead by Cain Dingle, Chas' brother, during a fight, while viewers are convinced someone else pulled the trigger.
Amid speculation that Kerry Wyatt could be framed by Cain or someone else for the murder of her partner Al, and other rumours that Al isn't even dead, spoilers for next week reveal a shift in storylines.
It's still a tense time in the Dales with the fallout to Al's demise rumbling on, but there's also other big scenes involving characters away from the Dingle family.
Al death fallout
The village continues to reel from the brutal murder of Al Chapman, and Cain Dingle's arrest for the crime.
Few spoilers have been revealed about what happens next and whether Cain will leave the show for good.
What is known is that the Dingles will no doubt face turmoil as Cain faces a lengthy stint behind bars, while Al's loved ones will struggle with what's happened.
It also remains to be seen if Chas' affair with Al will finally be exposed to the village.
Characters return to face justice
Emmerdale sees the return of at least four characters next week on the ITV soap, triggering emotional scenes for two residents.
There's court scenes ahead, as Nicola King could finally get justice over the disgusting attack on her earlier this year.
Her attackers, or at least four of them, make their return as they appear in court over their crime - joined by Naomi Walters.
Charles Anderson's daughter Naomi was revealed to have been at the scene of the attack, when Nicola recognised her voice and her trainers.
Soon it emerged she was there, but she was not involved in the attack - while she didn't help Nicola either.
She joins the four girls on trial next week - but will Nicola get the justice she needs to move on?
Naomi exits?
Off the back of the court scenes, Emmerdale is hinting at an exit for newcomer Naomi next week with spoilers teasing she could be sent to prison.
The character believes her fate is sealed as she looks set to be framed for a violent crime.
Nicola's real attackers soon play dirty in a bid to stay out of jail, trying to set Naomi up as the main attacker, and the only person there.
Saskia soon threatens her former pal, and as she takes to the stand it's clear the main attacker is trying to frame Naomi.
As Nicola fears she won't get justice, Naomi is sure there's trouble ahead and that she might end up going down for a crime she didn’t commit.
With the girls refusing to reveal the truth, it all gets too much for Naomi as she takes to the stand and reveals Saskia has been threatening her.
This results in Saskia losing her cool and showing her true colours, but will the jury believe she was the one who hurt Nicola?
As the week comes to a close ahead of a verdict, Naomi's brother Ethan and her father Charles try to encourage her that everything will be fine, and justice will be found.
But she has already resigned herself to the possibility of going to prison, believing this will be the case - so is an exit on the cards for the character?
