Emmerdale viewers may soon see a character return from the dead in a shock storyline.
Emmerdale fans are under the impression evil Pierce Harris, played by Jonathan Wrather, recently died in the soap - although the death occurred off-screen.
The storyline has seen the arrival of newcomer Marcus Dean, played by Darcy Grey, to the village. The character, who is Pierce’s son, has formed a bond with Rhona Goskirk who is portrayed by Zoe Henry in Emmerdale.

However, the Express is suggesting an elaborate plot twist where Pierce isn’t actually dead and is plotting against Rhona once again.
As Emmerdale fans know, Marcus never actually got to see his killer father because he was told the prisoner had died behind bars.

There’s speculation suggesting this could all be a set up from the murderer who is actually watching in the shadows.
The rumour suggests Pierce could have made a connection with another prisoner who has contacts with criminals on the outside world.
It could have been this person who was speaking to Rhona and Marcus, posing as a jail official who was informing them about Pierce's condition.
At first, it could have been part of a revenge plan against Rhona as the villain might have thought if he brought his son into the picture, he would take over his mission to make the villager's life a living hell.
With the killer hiring the criminals to keep an eye on his son when he was told the character was getting closer to his ex-wife, he could have told his fellow inmate to make the call he was dead.
Knowing he needs to take the reins of the mission and show his son a lesson, the villain could order the criminals to kill his son.
It all sounds a little far-fetched but this is soapland afterall.
We’ll keep you posted on the future holds and whether we might see Pierce Harris ‘return from the dead’.
