Emmerdale serial killer Meena confesses to one of her crimes - but there's a catch

Emmerdale's evil Meena Jutla has finally admitted to one of her crimes - but there's a catch.

The serial killer has been released from hospital after she was injured when she was pushed off a bridge by Dr Liam Cavanagh earlier this week, as she returned to wreak havoc on Billy Fletcher and Dawn Taylor for their Valentine's Day wedding.

And in scenes that aired on tonight's show, she was finally taken into a police station and interviewed by the cops over the murders of Leanna Cavanagh, Andrea Tate, Ben Tucker and her friend Nadine.

She had pleaded no comment when asked about them multiple times, but faced with new evidence, she was forced to do a u-turn.

Left with no way out, Meena was forced to confess that she dealt the blows that killed Ben Tucker after the police managed to locate a pair of gloves which had her DNA on the inside and Ben's blood on the outside.

As the police left her with her solicitor to consider her answer to the question, she quickly quizzed the legal representative on what the best thing to do was now she had been linked to the crime.

On the solicitor's advice, she then decided to admit she dealt the blows - but insisted it was in self-defence.

"You killed Ben Tucker?" the detective asked, as Meena said: "It was an accident. He'd been in a terrible state, he was being set up to take the blame for an accident. I was with Billy when he took a call from Ben, I was worried about the state of his mental health. I'm a medical professional. I felt it was my duty to talk to him.

"I walked in and found him about to break into the till; I was scared. All of a sudden, he wasn't the Ben I knew. So I ran but he followed me outside. I stumbled, he grabbed me and put his hands around my throat."

She later admitted she had hit him - but only in self-defence, and insisted it wasn't murder.

"He had his hands around my throat, I was losing consciousness, I had just enough strength to get to my feet and grab the closest thing to hand and I hit him with the oar. I don't know how many times," she said.

"I just wanted to make him stop. Then I ran, I never looked back. When I heard they found a corpse I was in shock, I thought I just knocked him out. I was traumatised, terrified."
