Emmerdale scene clears up car 'blunder' after crash horror as fans left puzzled

Emmerdale fans thought they'd witnessed a major continuity blunder on Thursday night, after missing a crucial scene on the ITV soap.

There were dark scenes as villain Alex Moore was hit by a car at full speed, as he stood in the middle of the country road.

Alex was distracted by a phone call and didn't see or hear the car coming, as it struck him and left him gravely injured.

It was soon revealed that Billy Fletcher was the driver of the car, and he soon left him for dead in the road.

Billy had confessed to his partner Dawn Taylor what he'd done, with them realising the police might think it was deliberate given their history.

Desperate to cover his tracks, Billy took Dawn's advice and concealed the car used in the crash in a barn.

He and Dawn then drove back to the scene of the crime to find out if Alex was dead or had survived, and if there were any clues pointing to Billy's guilt.

But the scene left many fans confused, as they noticed the car Dawn was driving was in perfect condition with no damage to it.

Believing it to be the same car from the crash, fans were baffled at how the windscreen was no longer cracked and the car looked fine.

Taking to Twitter, one fan wrote: "Well, that was a nice clean crash cos Billy’s car is still pristine, FFS."

Another fan said: "Fixed that windscreen quickly!," as a third tweeted: "Where was the crack on the windscreen?"

But this 'blunder' had actually been cleared up in the scene prior to them returning to the crash site, and some fans appeared to miss it.

Dawn told Billy to move his car to the barn, with him then picking up his car keys and doing as she said.

It was then that Dawn picked up another separate set of car keys, before going outside.

The car driven by Dawn was possibly her car but it definitely was not Billy's, hence why there was no damage to the windscreen in the later scenes.

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
