Emmerdale star Zoe Henry has spoken how she’s used her experience as previously being a carer during the soap’s major storyline around Marlon Dingle.
As Emmerdale fans know, Rhona Goskirk, played by Zoe Henry, has become a carer to Marlon Dingle, played by Mark Charnock, following his stroke. The pair have both done extensive research to make the challenging scenes as authentic as possible.
Zoe praised her co-star Mark when appearing on this morning’s Lorraine. She then told host Ranvir Singh, standing in for Lorraine Kelly, of her past as a carer.

Zoe said: "I was a carer for a long time so I have a little experience of wheelchairs and hoists. It is a really important story and an important one to tell.”
Praising the storyline, Ranvir said: “I think it is amazing what Emmerdale are doing with this.” While Dr Hilary Jones said: “It is really good (raising awareness) because stroke is the fourth most common cause of death in this country.
Discussing filming Zoe and Mark’s wedding scenes, Zoe said it was a great opportunity to welcome so many Emmerdale castmates back to the set. She said: “It was wonderful to have so many people on set, because of the Covid restrictions we had been limited to around 10 people, so everyone was really giddy to be back."
Rhona and Marlon's wedding will play out this week in Emmerdale.
