Emmerdale's Rebecca Sarker supported as new show leaves her 'bruised and battered'

Emmerdale's Rebecca Sarker has admitted she is "bruised and battered" as she films a new show.

The 47-year-old is best known to fans for her role as Manpreet Sharma in the ITV soap. Manpreet has recently endured a turbulent time in the Yorkshire Dales as she testified in court for the villainous Meena Jutla's trial.

Away from the fictional village, Manpreet's real life counterpart has been completing a gruelling training regime as she prepares to compete in new programme, The Games. The competition will see famous faces trained by some of the UK's top coaches before taking on a host of different challenges.

The Games will be hosted by Holly Willoughby and Freddie Flintoff - and the soap star will be joined in the contest by Coronation Street actors Colson Smith and Ryan Thomas. The show is set to start on May 9 - and Rebecca shared a snap on Instagram and admitted she is feeling the effects of her training.

She said: "Bit bruised and battered today. Ice on the ankle, heat on the back, worry on my mind...not long to go." Rebecca's Emmerdale co-stars flooded the comments to issue messages of support after the update.

Fiona Wade said: "You’re doing amazingly darling! A beautiful Warrior"

Ash Palmisciano added: "You got this mate"

Kevin Mathurin posted: "You can do it, R."

Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7.30pm on ITV and the ITV Hub
