Paddy Kirk is one of Emmerdale’s best loved characters and undoubtedly he’s had an eventful life living in the village.
First appearing in 1997, Paddy Kirk, played by Dominic Brunt, has been taken to the hearts of millions of Emmerdale viewers. The popular vet has a rock solid bromance with bestie Marlon Dingle.
Down the years, he’s been involved in his fair share of romances with the character being married four times. As Emmerdale fans will know he certainly has a penchant for the Dingle women - getting wed to a fair few of them.

We’ve taken a look back at the highs and lows of Paddy’s romantic times in the Emmerdale village. He’s certainly had a bit of a rocky road.
There’s been many emotional storylines while the character has also provided lots of laughs and smiles for viewers. Have a scroll below and relive Paddy’s marriages.
Mandy Dingle
Many believe Mandy will forever be the love of Paddy’s life. When the character first arrived in the village, as a locum for Zoe Tate at the vet surgery, he thought he was just passing through Emmerdale but someone caught his eye.
Of course, it was Mandy, played by Lisa Riley, with the two enjoying and enduring a chequered romance in the 1990s. They were married for two years but, sadly, it ended in heartache with Mandy having an affair with Neil who was carer for her father. The couple got divorced although at the start of 2023 we did see the two ignite their old flame with them sharing a night of passion.
This came after Paddy discovered his wife Chas Dingle (as we said, a lot of Dingles) cheated on him with Al Chapman. We’ll get to all that in good time.
Emily Dingle
Heartbroken, Paddy, became close to widow Emily Dingle (she married into the Dingle clan when she wed Butch). They slowly began courting and they replaced Marlon and Tricia at the altar - after the latter got cold feet.
Paddy and Emily had a very solid marriage, arguably with no major spark, as the couple fostered children together. Unfortunately, Paddy was drawn elsewhere and cheated on Emily with her boss Viv Windsor.
When Emily announced her husband’s betrayal to a packed Woolpack the marriage ended. Emily left the village soon after.
Rhona Goskirk
Well, this is a complicated one. Rhona nearly broke the friendship between Paddy and Marlon. In 2010, Rhona returned to the village with her getting close to both Paddy and Marlon over time.
Having finally chosen Paddy, the couple married in 2012. But, much like Paddy’s previous marriages, there was to be no happy ever after. And, in 2022, Rhona ended up marrying Marlon. The three seemed to have well-and-truly put their past behind them.

Chastity Dingle
The Dingle chord runs strongly through Paddy’s desires. Having previously dated, Paddy and Chas became an item again in 2018. Paddy had long had a strong bond and relationship with her son Aaron Dingle which helped stabilise the family dynamic. They were with each other during the terribly traumatic time when their baby Grace died soon after being born.
It was an incredibly difficult time for the couple. They then married in 2020 with Paddy changing his last name from Kirk and Dingle - the show even acknowledged it in the end credits.
Although, their happiness wasn’t the last. In 2022, Chas had a steamy affair with Al Chapman with the big reveal coming around the time of Al’s death.
Many Emmerdale fans will be hoping Paddy eventually finds his happily ever after.
