Emmerdale's Max Parker’s love story with on-screen brother Kris Mochrie after engagement

Emmerdale actor Max Parker has announced his engagement to former on-screen brother Kris Mochrie.

Max, who played Luke Posner in the ITV soap from 2019 until 2021, got down on one knee in front of Kris in an incredibly romantic proposal by the beach.

Dubbing the 'happiest moment' of his life, Max shared a series of adorable photos of the couple celebrating their engagement and a video of the moment itself.

Kris, who played rapist Lee Posner in Emmerdale in 2019, also posted pictures of the moment to Instagram and hailed Max a 'beautiful soul'

He went on to say that he 'loved him beyond words' and that he had 'no idea' that the proposal has been coming.

Max first found love with Kris while on set of the ITV soap in 2020 and the lovebirds have gone from strength-to-strength ever since.

Although speculation surrounded the smitten pair for months prior to their official announcement, both Max and Kris denied any romance rumours until they decided the time was right.

In September 2020, the on-screen brothers turned lovers went Instagram official while on a romantic getaway together.

At the time, an excited Max filmed himself and Kris cosying up to one another on the plane prior to take-off.

And upon their arrival at their holiday destination, Max posted another video of their shared hotel room before posting a string of loved-up holiday selfies to Instagram.

Max and Kris are believed to have enjoyed a string of romantic dates before confirming their relationship after an ‘instantly connecting’ on the Emmerdale set.

“They met on Kris’ last day filming and just hit it off,” a source told The Sun at the time.

“They were cast as brothers and are really alike and have been joking that casting did a great job.

“The boys kept in touch after Kris finished on the show but they’ve spent a lot of time together over summer.”

Since then, Max and Kris have taken some milestone steps in their relationship.

Last year, the couple moved into a luxury penthouse apartment in Manchester.

The lovebirds documented their move on social media, sharing updates and glimpses into their love nest – much to the delight of their curious fans.

And following their whirlwind engagement, Kris has gushed out his soon-to-be husband.

"The beautiful soul that is my best friend asked me to marry him yesterday. I can’t begin to describe how happy I am," he wrote in a gushing Instagram post.

"I love him beyond words, we laugh every single day and I’m so so grateful that he came in to my life.

"I had no idea at all! But it was just perfect… I mean this film says it all. Max had asked my Mum for any jewellery that my Gran had. Mum still had my Grans locket and he has had it made in to the middle of the engagement ring on the inside. So so special.

"Thank you to the job that brought us together, our incredible family and friends. And the amazing love from you all. I’m a very lucky boy.

"WE ARE GETTING MARRIED!!!!!"

Congratulations to the happy couple!
