Emmerdale's Mark Charnock revealed he had to seek medical attention after suffering an injury while filming scenes for his character's stroke story-line.
The Marlon Dingle star bagged a number of awards after being at the centre of an emotional storyline that saw his character's difficult recovery after having a stroke. Mark’s sensitive and moving performance was also acknowledged by viewers who at the time also shared their personal experiences.
Marlon suffered the stroke in March of this year, and the soap has explored the slow process of recovery and him undergoing gruelling physical therapy.

Mark has now revealed that since Marlon’s posture has changed from suffering from the stroke, his back “finally gave up” and he had to go and get it checked out. The 54-year-old told Inside Soap : “I actually had to go and get my back sorted the other day.
"I’m constantly down on one side playing Marlon. Being tall, I’ve always had back issues, but it finally gave up on me the other day and I had to go and see somebody to sort it. As an actor, you kind of know what you’re in for when you sign up for those types of stories. It has been hard, but sort of satisfying.”
Mark went on to say the story-line is the "best he's ever had" and that he has been trying his best not to let anyone down having been given such an important subject to portray.
