Emmerdale's Lucy Pargeter has responded to a soap fan who is clearly unhappy with her character Chas Dingle.
Viewers have had little sympathy for Chas Dingle of late, as the married mum was having an affair with also-taken Al Chapman. Earlier this year, heartrending scenes showed Faith Dingle taking her final breath alongside her son Cain.
But Chas was nowhere to be seen, as she was in a hotel room with Al, with her phone switched off.

More recently, Chas' affair was revealed to her husband Paddy, with some viewers accusing Chas of "making it all about her" while Paddy struggles with a broken heart.
On Wednesday, one Twitter user said: "#Emmerdale Lucy Pargeter's character Chas beggars belief. The actress is portraying this character as a victim.
"No real acceptance/responsibility for the utter devastation she has caused loved ones. Still blaming others for her behaviour. Come on script writers. U can do better!"
Lucy replied: "So I’m playing her as the victim or can the scriptwriters do better ? That’s where the line gets blurred.." Fans were quick to rush to support the actress.
Mel said: "Down to the script but sadly people are out there that do what she’s done and do play the victim. You play the victim very well. You’re a fab actress", while Jenni said: "It’s drama/fiction! Everybody is different and reacts to situations in different ways…I’ve watched Emmerdale since day 1 and you get to know the way the characters would act…this is exactly how Chas would behave and Lucy acts it out superbly - good script + great acting".
Margaret said: "I love Chas and Paddy and IMHO Lucy and Dominic are doing a great job."
