Emmerdale's Lucy Pargeter stuns Tipping Point as she shares controversial 'magnet' conspiracy

Fans have congratulated Emmerdale's Lucy Pargeter on her Tipping Point performance after a tense game that saw her just miss out on the jackpot - but in the same episode host Ben Shepherd was forced to confront a long running conspiracy theory.

Lucy, who plays Chaz Dingle on the ITV show, beat out the competition from comedian Sarah Pascoe and rugby player Joe Marler to reach the final round of Tipping Point. She managed to get every question right in the final round.

However, despite her great performance - the jackpot token never fell over the edge, clinging tantalisingly close to the edge until the end as Lucy commented how tense the game was.

Presenter Ben Shepherd gave Lucy the chance to have three extra tokens to win the jackpot - but if they didn't work, she'd have lost the £6,000 she'd already won for her charity, Women's Aid. Saying she knew the value the £6,000 could have for the charity, Lucy decided to leave with the money she had.

Lucy said: "It's not my money. I know that money will help so many families out."

And it turned out to be the right decision - they played out the three tokens anyway to see what would have happened, and none were enough to push the jackpot over the edge.

And Tipping Point's host Ben Shephard addressed the big magnet "conspiracy" that has been doing the rounds among fans during the latest episode.

After a bad drop for the counters, Lucy joked that the machine was being 'controlled by a magnet' - which echoes a long-held fan conspiracy theory from Tipping Point viewers.

Lucy told Ben: "There was someone with a magnet behind there flipping it that way."

A shocked Ben Shepherd, the host, replied: "Don’t talk about the magnet. Conspiracy theorists love a magnet."

Lucy then added: "I love a conspiracy theory," as she laughed.

Fans praised Lucy for her performance and her winning the money for her charity and were also quick to discuss the magnet moment.

@RyanGSoapKing11 said: "Well done Lucy #TippingPoint," and Garry Enfield said: "Yes Lucy! #TippingPoint"

Garry added later on: "Good choice Lucy, those counters always go the to right so it might not have got the jackpot counter out. #TippingPoint"

"Well played Lucy. #TippingPoint," said James Nimarcko.

And finally, @HashBrownButty took the opportunity to make an Emmerdale joke: "A good charity that, Charity #TippingPoint"
