Speaking to Inside Soap, Lisa addressed fans' requests to get Mandy and Paddy to get back together while teasing a huge new storyline for her character.
She said: "The whole nation wants to see Mandy and Paddy together. But it's soap, as you know, and we will keep this carrot dangling for a long time.
"What I can tell you is I have an enormous storyline coming which starts in February – you can't see my dining room table for scripts right now.”
Remaining tight-lipped about the upcoming storyline, Riley said it is going to be one to watch, the actress continued: “I'd even go as far as to say that it's probably my favourite storyline since I've come back to Emmerdale. It's going to be incredible."
In an upcoming episode Cain and Chas' secret brother Caleb will arrive at the village on Christmas day and Riley says the Christmas lunch at the Dingle's will be packed with Drama.
"We filmed Christmas lunch at the Dingle house, and you couldn't get more people in one set if you tried. Charity's there with Mackenzie, Sarah and Noah, Chas drops some gifts off, then Doctor Liam pops in to check on Vinny. Of course it's Belle's birthday too, and Lydia and Mandy have a surprise for her – all I'll say is that it's not a gift, it's a person."
Speaking to OK magazine the ITV soap boss Jane has shared new spoilers including explosive weddings and heartbreaking scenes.

Jane said: "The Dingles are really kicking off 2023 with a bang. It's all going on for them. We're continuing our story with Paddy and Chas and how you navigate trying to be the best parents you can when your marriage has fallen to pieces and one of you has had an affair.
"We'll watch them both go on their journeys, and it will be very serious and quite heartbreaking as we watch what happens to what was one of our favourite couples until we tore them apart."
