Emmerdale's Lewis Cope teases darker side to Nicky as Caleb truth revealed

Lewis Cope has teased Nicky Miligan could show a darker side on Emmerdale, after the truth of his part in Caleb's fall was revealed.

Last night, ITV viewers found out that Nicky had been the one to push Caleb in shocking scenes, with him not even being one of the suspects. So many people have a grudge against Caleb after he was found out for his plan to take Home Farm from Kim Tate, but it was actually his own son Nicky that pushed him to his near death.

Now Lewis, who plays Nicky, has teased there could be a darker storyline ahead for his character and hinted that he may have the capacity to (try and) kill again after his attack on his own father.

Speaking to The Mirror and other press, Lewis revealed: "We haven’t learned massive amounts about Nicky’s background. Most of what you’ve learned has actually been lies, just to fabricate this whole situation to get revenge.

"I don’t think he’s a massively aggressive person, but I think everyone’s got the capacity depending on the situation they’re in to do anything. Given the circumstances, maybe he could do it again."

He reiterated: "I think maybe he could be influenced by his situations and could do things again. We don’t know yet."

Lewis is hopeful that Nicky and Caleb might be able to sort out their differences, if his father survives.

"I’d like to think they could resolve it but probably from Caleb’s part, I’ve not only messed up his whole plan of getting Home Farm and getting revenge and getting some money back, I’ve also then now tried to kill him," he said, before joking to The Mirror, "There’s a mountain to climb before he’ll forgive me, if he survives."

Will Ash - who plays Caleb - added in a joint interview: "There’s definitely a mountain to climb but I also think there’s quite a lot of remorse on Caleb’s part and it’s only now the clouds have cleared and he’s got a bit of perspective, he can see how badly he’s treated his son. He needs to make up for that. Caleb’s not a big one for apologising and admitting that he’s wrong.

"I don’t think he’s ever really going to say that to his son but he will show that."

He concluded: "Moving forward, I don’t think he’d ever treat Nicky like that again. He’s very aware of that."
