Emmerdale 's Kim Tate made a sudden exit from the village on Thursday night, after a worrying phone call allowed Caleb Miligan to set her up.
Her business partner, who is actually working against her, teamed up with a mystery character called Adrian it seemed - who turned out to be someone Kim already knew.
The character answered to a different name when Kim spoke to them on the phone, moments after Caleb was heard telling Adrian to drop her a call to "raise the temperature".
The news she got on the phone allowed Caleb to set up Kim and make her think she had to flee the country in a bid to save her business elsewhere.
It was recently revealed that Caleb is the secret son of her ex-husband Frank Tate, and Caleb believes he is the rightful heir to Home Farm and Kim's fortune.
He and his secret son Nicky, the Home Farm nanny, are working together to bring down Kim and take everything she has.
Kim stole money from Frank after his death and hid assets, while Frank was also the original owner of Home Farm when he lived there with Kim and his children Chris and Zoe.
Caleb is keen to get everything he can and leave her with nothing, and on Thursday night fans saw him step up his revenge plan.
The character continued to stay quiet as Kim fretted over the mystery heir who had contacted her, demanding a settlement.
Kim has no idea it is Caleb, but Caleb has been pretending the news is a worry to him being her business partner - even threatening to call off their deal with the stud farm.
Kim once again protested that the mystery heir would not affect the stud farm business or lose her her fortune, after a second letter arrived demanding a settlement.
But the big twist came when Kim was contacted by a business associate in Dubai, who claimed they'd heard she had financial issues.
Kim revealed to partner Will Taylor that it was the developers of a hotel complex in Dubai she was working with, and that she could risk losing the development and her assets tied into it.
When she told Caleb he acted worried, while it appears the person who called Kim could well be 'Adrian' and the person Caleb had told to put pressure on Kim.
Caleb then said he should never have gone into business with Kim, but she insisted their deal was very much going forward and there was nothing to worry about.
Fearing Caleb was about to pull out of their deal, Will asked him what Kim should do - and it's then that he stepped up his plan to get Kim away from Home Farm.
Caleb clearly wanted Kim away from the village so he can carry on his plan and get closer to what he wants without her getting in the way.
Kim was reluctant, but Caleb convinced her she needed to go to Dubai and work on proving to the developers that there were no financial issues.
She eventually agreed and asked Will and Caleb to keep things going while she was away, with her soon driven to the airport.
Kim will return at some point but it hasn't been revealed when, while Caleb looked pretty smug with himself as he found himself 'in charge' while she was gone, alongside Will.
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
