Emmerdale star Lucy Pargeter has revealed the soap’s cast are fearing for their futures as the programme prepares to celebrate its 50th anniversary.
Lucy Pargeter, 45, has played Chas Dingle in Emmerdale since 2022. The star has spoken to the Metro about the soap’s big plans for their 50th anniversary happening in October.
Lucy has hinted some of Emmerdale’s best-loved characters could be killed off. The show favourite is also fearing for her future.

"No one is safe. I’m on a year’s contract so every year I wonder, ‘Is this my last?’,” Lucy said. “It’s the show’s 50th anniversary this year. Do they need to sacrifice someone to pull in the audience?"
Soap bosses have promised some major storylines as part of the Emmerdale milestone. There will likely be a return of some old favourites and, it is expected, some villagers will leave…or be bumped off.
Lucy, who previously starred in the film Anita and Me, would love to end her career on Emmerdale and go down as a show legend. She concluded: "My kids are settled and every time I get the scripts, there’s something that will make me laugh or cry. I’d be quite happy to retire at Emmerdale."
