Emmerdale's Amy Nuttall 'crushed' and 'crying almost every day' after split from husband

Emmerdale's Amy Nuttall is said to be 'crushed' and 'crying almost every day' after her husband 'ended their marriage'.

The actress, 40, who played Chloe Atkinson in the soap, married Andrew Buchan, 44, in 2012 and shares two children with the Broadchurch actor.

Andrew is now said to be living with his Better co-star Leila Farzad, 40 - leaving Amy heartbroken.

The Downtown Abbey star allegedly said she couldn't talk about the reports, stating: "I can't say anything".

However, a source said Amy had been left devastated as she tries to rebuild her life.

They said: "It's been very hard for Amy. She's been crying virtually every day since it happened and she's struggling to cope with things. She can't even bring herself to talk about it as she's still trying to make sense of it all.

While a friend added: "Amy and the kids have been hit very hard by this, as you can imagine. They are all crushed. One minute they were living an idyllic family life in a beautiful house and the next, Andrew walks out on them, reports MailOnline.

They added: "I've seen Amy a few times and when I do, she just bursts into tears. She's been doing a lot of crying and is still grieving the end of the marriage."

A close family friend of Amy's told the outlet the actress' family are "devastated" by what has happened, claiming her loved ones are "angry' at Andrew.

The couple were together for 16 years, however it's claimed Andrew informed Amy he was leaving her and the family home to set up a new life just days before Christmas.

The former couple tied the knot on September 8, 2012 and were often seen together on the red carpet.

Meanwhile, Better star Leila lives a relatively low-key lifestyle and received her big break in 2006 as the voice of Mrs Cat and Mrs Pony kids cartoon Peppa Pig.
