Emmerdale's Aaron Dingle has been away from the village for a whole year - and he's had quite the adventure.
Danny Miller is returning to the ITV soap ahead of the show's huge 50th anniversary celebrations. Aaron is making his return after 12 months away, when he left in the middle of her incarceration when she was falsely accused of killing Ben Tucker.
Aaron will find himself in the middle of a whole drama, when he's questioned by Harriet after attacking evil Terry who has come to the house and urged Liv to reconsider her police statement. He had just planned to come back and reconnect with his half-sister, after leaving so abruptly, but he also has some big adventures to share with his family too.
Giving an update on what's been going on with Aaron Dingle since he left the village, Danny told The Mirror and other press: "He's got a boyfriend. He was in France with Adam and then they both moved to Italy.
"Aaron's met this guy called Marco, and he talks about him quite a lot and he talks about him being the one. You know, his kind of typical line. Aaron always says - I think this is for keeps, or I think this is good. He said that about everyone in his past."
Speaking about what Aaron has been up to, he added: "But yes he's in another relationship. He's met him and he's been Italy for the majority of the time. Before he was in France, with Adam as well. His boyfriend's Italian."
Despite being all loved up with his Italian boyfriend, Aaron's been keen to get back to see Faith amid her devastating cancer diagnosis, whilst he is also keen to reconcile with Liv, having left whilst she was wrongly incarcerated for the murder of Aaron's boyfriend Ben Tucker. Instead, it was Meena Jutla who killed Ben as well as a number of other residents.
"I think in terms of reconciling with Liv, I think it was unfortunate that he left at that time because she was in prison. They wanted to play the storyline that she was going to prison and stuff so I didn't have much time," Danny added.
"She was in prison and I was saying, I'm really sorry, I'm gonna get you out, but I'm going. It was unfortunate that he had to leave in that way because I think they've always been so strong."
He concluded: "However it's, it's made for a better return because it's a nice way of coming back into the show and him reconciling with Liv, but also having a bit of drama with every other story that's going on in the village."
Danny's first scenes on Emmerdale since his exit last year will see Aaron find himself questioned by police after local police officer Harriet sees him go to attack Terry, who breaks into Liv's house and demands she retract her statement to the police.
*Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7.30pm on ITV, with an hour long episode on Thursdays.
