Emmerdale's Executive Producer Jane Hudson has warned viewers to prepare themselves, as characters will be killed off later this month in tearjerking scenes.
Asides the confirmed death of Faith Dingle to air next week, the soap has remained tight-lipped over who else meets their maker.
Now, Jane has warned viewers there are going to be lots of tears ahead, from characters and themselves.
Viewers will need to prepare themselves, as "death and destruction" and heartbreak is on the cards for the big 50th anniversary episodes.
A devastating windstorm will strike during the show's big stunt week, and it will leave villagers in grave danger - and not everyone will make it out alive.
Amid rumoured deaths, Jane told The Mirror and other press that characters would be tested physically and mentally, as catastrophic scenes unfold later this month.
She teased: "[The stunt week] is a rollercoaster of emotions, and there is a visual impact that will blow more than your socks off, put it that way.
"There's death, there's destruction but also real moments of intimacy, heartbreak and love. We're gonna see our characters tested not just by their physical strength, but their emotional strength as well.
"There’s gonna be a lot of tears, I must warn you about that, and we're gonna see our community have to deal with the aftermath of this horrific storm.
Jane also told us that there would be more scenes to watch out for after the big stunt week, as the soap features a month of celebrations for the 50th anniversary.
She has now announced an explosive storyline set to air towards the end of the month, that will continue into the new year.
Jane spilled: "The month has started with Aaron's return, we've got the Faith story coming up which is incredibly sad and then into our storm, which we've got more than one stunt across the week.
"And then when you just think things can't get any worse for our Emmerdale characters, they really, really do and we end the month on a really big bang that propels us well into the new year."
Jane remained coy over what the storyline is and who will be involved, with it also not yet clear who will survive the deadly storm.
