Emmerdale actor Darcy Grey has teased a dark secret, claiming there is a sinister side of his on-screen character that is yet to be explored. Grey plays the role of Marcus Dean on the ITV soap.
He hinted that the secret, which will give viewers a deeper insight into his past and his relationship with his father, is set to be exposed during the soap's 50th anniversary episode. Darcy, who plays the son of rapist-turned-killer Pierce, revealed he was warned by Emmerdale bosses they weren't sure how fans would react to his character at first.
In a red carpet interview with our colleagues at The Mirror at the British Soap Awards on Saturday, the actor said: "I remember the guys going, 'be careful, because we're not sure how the audience are going to react to you' because obviously the history between me and my dad.
