Former Emmerdale writer and soap expert Sharon Marshall has joined rival soap EastEnders.
As our colleagues at The Mirror report, Sharon Marshall, who recently quit her role writing for ITV’s Emmerdale, has joined BBC rival soap EastEnders.
Sharon is also known as one of the UK’s best-loved soap experts. Appearing on This Morning, talking about the goings on in soapland, spilled the beans on her own future.

This Morning hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield paused the segments to offer their congratulations. Phil stopped talking about the soaps and said: "And you're joining EastEnders," Sharon looked gleeful as she showed off her picture with the famous Albert Square sign.
"I am," she said, "I've been over at EastEnders for a little while now. My first episode is coming up next Wednesday. It's obligatory that you've got to take a photo like that. I'm part of the writing team now, I'm thrilled to say."
