Emmerdale legend Dominic Brunt has paid tribute to Frank Tate actor Norman Bowler.
Dominic Brunt, 52, who plays Paddy Dingle, has been an Emmerdale fan favourite for over 25 years. Although, as the Express reports, that might not have been the case if it wasn’t for Norman Bowler.
As Dominic explained: “I came for eight episodes and on the last day Norman Bowler, who used to play Frank Tate, asked, ‘Have you enjoyed yourself?’. I told him I’d loved it and wished I could stay a bit longer.

“So he told me to go upstairs, knock on the producer’s door and tell them exactly that.” Unsure if this approach would be fruitful, Dominic, plucked up the courage and spoke to the soap bosses.
Dominic added: “I was really nervous, I didn’t think it was my place. But I did it. And four months later they’d written me back in.”
As Emmerdale fans know, the character of Frank Tate has been featured again in the soap after a big revelation. The character died in 1997, in no small part thanks to his volatile relationship with wife Kim Tate.
