Emmerdale legend Dominic Brunt has addressed what the long-term future holds for him and his character Paddy Dingle.
As Emmerdale viewers know, Paddy is currently enduring an incredibly upsetting time through a storyline centred on men’s mental health. Dominic Brunt, 52, who plays Paddy, has praised charitable organisations Andy’s Man Club and The Samaritans for their help with the storyline.
Since Paddy discovered wife Chas had an affair with Al Chapman we’ve seen his wellbeing deteriorate. Dominic has previously delivered a cryptic hint suggesting his time in Emmerdale could be coming to an end.

“If I was to go tomorrow though, I wouldn’t complain because I’ve had 25 amazing years – but long may it continue,” we reported Dominic state. “I absolutely love that job to pieces. I can’t explain to you what it means to me.”
In a new interview with the TV Times, Dominic has elaborated further on Paddy’s future in Emmerdale. He explained: “I hope he gets better, I hope he talks more, I hope he brings his friends into what happened, and I hope he and Chas can make amends, whether they're together or not.

“I hope he tells her that it wasn't all her fault, because it's important that she knows that. And I hope he listens to the fact that so many people say: 'I love you.'”
