It's not uncommon for actors to appear in one soap before then starring in another, and the latest move has now been confirmed on Twitter.
One former Emmerdale icon will migrate from Yorkshire to Manchester, joining Coronation Street for a "few episodes". On Thursday night, Chrissie White actress Louise Marwood confirmed she was making the switch.
Chrissie was at the centre of a number of explosive storylines during her four years in the Dales. She found out she wasn't actually the biological daughter of her father Lawrence White, and witnessed her son Lachlan commit sexual assault.

She died alongside Lawrence in a car crash in January 2018, after Lachlan grabbed the steering wheel and turned the car into the path of an oncoming lorry. Whether Louise's Corrie character will have as dramatic a time remains to be seen, but soap fans are very excited at the news.
In a tweet, Louise said: "I am joining @itvcorrie it’s true, but only for a few eps. Hate to disappoint. Fab character though…". People were quick to respond.
Leanne said: "You never disappoint! Even if it's only a few eps, you're always phenomenal", while Laura Lou said: "Look forward to seeing your scenes, maybe there'll be potential for more." Dave Starling said: "Will be amazing to see you back on our screens again."
