Emmerdale's Nicky Miligan was surprised by a mystery arrival on the soap tonight - as fans 'worked out' the man's identity.
The mysterious nanny had a seemingly unwelcome visitor during tonight's episode of the ITV soap, ahead of his and Caleb's huge secret being exposed to Kim Tate and the rest of the family. Nicky has been pretending to be into Gabby Thomas and even proposed to her in a bid to keep their relationship going strong, and is rushing through their wedding.
Viewers, though, know he doesn't really like Gabby and is instead using her for his own gain and to support his father Caleb with his big plan to get the money off Kim Tate that he thinks he deserves, given he's Frank Tate's son.
As the pair walked into the Hop, Gabby and Nicky were spotted by a face from the past.
"I can’t believe it, what’s the chances of you walking through the door?" Gabby said as the man replied: "Mindblowing, isn’t it! If I’d known you were living around here, I’d have called or something. Me and Nicky go way back."
Nicky seemed shady as he agreed that they went way back, before Gabby admitted she had barely met any of his friends.
"You wouldn’t believe the things we got up to," the guy said, as Laurel excitedly replied: "You have to tell us everything!"
The guy then went on to tell Gabby that Nicky was "batting way above his average," as Nicky tried to shut down the conversation by saying: "Look, it’s been really nice catching up, but we’re kind of busy," but Gabby said the wedding plans could wait.
"See it can wait! I couldn’t believe it when I heard the news!" the guy said, as Nicky said he had planned to ring. "You got caught up in the magic! I think maybe he’s embarrassed by me!" the man then added.
Fans have been left puzzled by the new arrival - with some viewers sharing their theories about who the guy is and his connection.
"If this new guy is Nicky’s ex-boyfriend then there is definitely something in the water in that village!! # emmerdale," one fan wrote, whilst a second added: "If that’s Nicky’s ex-boyfriend, then my assumption that he was gay was correct #Emmerdale."
A third penned: "Nicky's ex or criminal partner? #Emmerdale," as a fourth took to Twitter and shared their verdict: "Don’t tell me this new guy is Nicky’s secret boyfriend? #Emmerdale."
Actor Lewis Cope - who plays Nicky on the show - previously teased there is even more "exciting" stuff to come for the pair.
Teasing what's to come, Lewis said: "Finding out that Caleb and Nicky are related. But why are they there? What are they up to? Do they succeed? How does it end? That’s all going to be really exciting stuff too! Yes, you start to see the reasons why they are in the village, then you start seeing the relationship between the two of them and how they live, which is really interesting."
