Emmerdale viewers think they have worked out the truth behind Jai Sharma's recent DNA discovery, after a scene with his father Rishi Sharma.
Jai learned he was actually adopted as a baby, after finding some papers at his father's house.
The letters revealed Rishi was not Jai's biological father leaving him in shock, and he decided to speak to Rishi about it, wanting answers.
Rishi initially stayed quiet and did not give him the answers he needed, leaving Jai furious.
Eventually the pair did speak, after Rishi claimed everything he and Jai's mother had done was in his best interest.
During their conversation, Rishi claimed that his ex Georgia was in fact Jai's biological mother as Jai had believed all this time.
Jai wasn't sure he could trust this information, and threatened to call her up to get answers from her too.
Rishi claimed that Georgia fell pregnant after a one-night stand while she and Rishi were friends.
He decided to support her and their friendship blossomed into romance, with Jai's arrival making them stronger than ever.
They raised Jai together and claimed Rishi was his biological father, with the character making it clear to his son that regardless of the facts, he was his dad.
Jai wanted to know who his real father was, but Rishi said the man was out of the picture before he was born and didn't even know about him.
His reluctance to give more information about the father and what happened with Georgia left Jai sure there was more to the story, and that Rishi was hiding something.
It was clear from Rishi's face that he was uncomfortable with the chat, especially as he begged Jai not to ask his mother about it.
Viewers watching at home were convinced there was more to the story, and believed they had rumbled what happened with Georgia all those years ago.
Fans came up with the devastating theory that Georgia may have fallen pregnant after being raped, or that the father was someone banished from the family.
Taking to Twitter, one fan wrote: "Wonder if Jai’s mother was raped, and that’s why Rishi won’t tell him the full truth."
Another agreed: "There has to be some god awful reason why Rishi has never told Jay. Like r@pe or something equally as awful."
A third fan said: "I don’t think it was a one night stand," as a fourth fan tweeted: "I think that Jai is a result of rape. Rishi took the mantle, but now is bearing the brunt of Jai's anger."
Another theory read: "Rishi is hiding something or someone relative perhaps a brother a bad apple in family banished from family."
