Caleb Milligan may be betrayed by his own secret on Nicky as the newcomer's plan to destroy Kim Tate alienates his own flesh and blood.
In Monday's instalment, Nicky attempts to steal from Cain Dingle (Jeff Mordley) but is caught in the act and attacked by the stalwart after branding Cain's son Isaac a murderer.
Caleb (William Ash) arrived in time to stop the fight escalating but Nicky was left hurt by his father's refusal to compromise their connection even as he watched Cain hurt him.
Later, Caleb confronted his son over his behaviour as he questioned why he was on Cain's property in the first place.
After realising his father needed money, Nicky explained he intended on stealing one of Cain's vehicles.
"How long did you think it would be before the police were tapping you on your shoulder?" Caleb asked his son.
"Well next time...," Nicky replied before Caleb jumped in: "No, there's not going to be a next time Nicky because you are going to stay in your lane."
"When were you going to stop him?" Nicky asked Caleb. "When he started kicking me to death or stamping on my head?"
"I heard what you said to him," Caleb hit back. "If you poke a bear, don't be surprised if it pokes you back."
Caleb told his son he didn't like having to stand back while his brother attacked his son but pointed out now wasn't the time to expose their true connection.
Nicky threatened his father that he could tell Cain the truth anytime he wanted as he urged Caleb to "be his dad" but the Dingle newcomer simply told his son to "grow up".
Could Nicky turn against Caleb and expose his father's plan to bring down Kim Tate (Claire King) to Cain?
One fan tweeted: "Nicky is going to blow it for Caleb, coz he’s impulsive and he can’t hold his water # Emmerdale," and another wrote: "#Emmerdale Nicky looking to Caleb for help. How far will Caleb let Cain go before he stop’s him?"
"All Nicky wants is his dad #Emmerdale," another shared.
