Emmerdale fans fear serial killer Meena Jutla may literally get away with murder—multiple murders in fact.
Unhinged Meena, played by Paige Sandhu, put on an award-winning performance on the witness stand during her trial in tonight's episode. But fans suggest a minor character may lead to her downfall.
The episode begins with Meena rehearsing what she'll say on the stand in front of a small mirror she's borrowed from Ian, a prison officer who she's been flirting with. In front of Ian, self-assured Meena fine-tunes her emotional inflection to make her lies sound as convincing as possible before she repeats them to the jury.

But Emmerdale viewers believe Ian, who appears to have fallen for Meena's manipulative charm, may not be the incidental character he initially appeared to be. Some have suggested he may have some connection to one of her victims, Ben Tucker.
Penny Irvine posits: "Well it’s all down to Ian the prison guard now. He must be in it for a reason. I wonder if she boasts to him that she’s getting away with murder."
Some fans think there could be a link between Ian and Leyla who has been making some unusual calls to a yet unidentified person. Could Leyla, the wife of Liam which whom Meena had an affair, be calling in a favour with Ian if it looks like Meena will walk free?
Niall Horan says: "That prison officer Ian is a plant right!? He’ll be the undoing of Meena yet. I can just feel it... Ian is an ex [of] Ben's, isn't he?"
Leanne White agrees: "I’m sure that Ian the prison guard is going to drop her in it..."
IanBub73 adds: "I bet Ian the screw is Ben's brother. Or a figment of Meena's mind! One of those."
And LochaberLynne suggests a more complicated scenario.
She says: "I reckon Ian is an undercover policeman waiting for Meena to confess. I think he is going to be the surprise witness in the court case to testify against her. Meena thinks she is playing him but it’s the cops play[ing] her..."
