Emmerdale saw a well known face join the village soap on ITV on Friday night, amid a huge new storyline for one character.
Dan Spencer was left making matters worse after his recent drama with creepy newcomer Lloyd. Dan had punched the character after he harassed his daughter teen Amelia.
Lloyd remains in hospital where he is fighting for his life, with Dan facing police charges. On Friday night the character decided to visit the hospital to see if there was an update about his condition.
When he got there, he came face-to-face with Lloyd's wife Julie, and Julie thought Dan had saved her husband's life. But Dan soon put her straight leaving her horrified.
What followed was a tense row over what happened and why Dan attacked Lloyd. Julie didn't believe his version of events, and Dan was escorted out of the building.
But fans tuning in may have recognised the actress playing Julie, as she's been in quite a few TV shows. It seems the character may be around for a while, but what else has the actress been in?
Emma Stansfield is a very familiar face, having been in a number of hit shows over the years. The actress has been in two other UK soaps, playing a handful of characters.
Actress Emma was in EastEnders a few years ago, as DS Olivia Kowalski. Her character was the officer who tried to stop Hunter Owen from fleeing as he took hostages during The Queen Vic siege.
Emma has also been in Coronation Street twice. More recently she played Penny Finton in 2021, but Emma also played Ronnie Clayton for 40 episodes across 2005 and 2006.
Other roles include stints in Doctors, The Salisbury Poisonings, Call the Midwife, three characters in Casualty and Father Brown. She also appeared in Endeavour, Skins, Midsomer Murders, The Bill, Heartbeat, The Royal and Holby City.
Her latest role will see her torn as Dan pleads his case for what led to him attacking Lloyd - but will she believe him? Dan could end up leaving the show if Lloyd dies, with him told he faces a murder charge. The character has been on the soap for 12 years.
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
