Emmerdale fans share concern for soap icon as they cast own verdict after Caleb's 'Dingle Court'

Emmerdale fans found themselves being left concerned for Zak Dingle after he made his return to screens in the ITV soap. The legendary character, played by Steve Halliwell, was seen back in the Dales on Monday night (June 12) as the family convened 'Dingle Court'.

Last week, newcomer Caleb Milligan's plans to bring down Kim Tate, ruining his sister-in-law Moria's farming business in the process, were exposed. Viewers have known for weeks that Caleb was planning to bring down Kim, played by Claire King, as he wanted to get his hands on what he believed was his birthright after discovering her ex-husband Frank Tate was his father.

But Caleb was left trying to explain why he was planning to empty Kim's bank accounts before getting his hands on Home Farm when she confronted him in the act. Interspersed with genius flashback scenes, Caleb revealed how he'd spent years figuring out how to bring her down, even meeting with her late ex Graham Foster.

And despite Caleb's plea to half-brother Cain that he was going to reimburse Moira after causing her financial ruin, Cain wasn't having any of it and demanded his brother flee the village for good. However, he manage to keep Chas slightly on side and remain at The Woolpack before she eventually chucked him out amid a face-off with Cain.

It still didn't see him away from the village as he took up a room at the B&B as he continued to plead with his family. And as Nate pointed out, the family needed to agree on what to do and eventually 'Dingle Court' was called as they tried to decide whether they should let Caleb back in the family after what he had done to Kim, or more specifically to Moira and Cain in the process of executing his master plan.

But as the family came together, with some of them more forceful in their views than others with Charity voting to let him stay as well as kick him out, Emmerdale viewers couldn't help but comment on Zak.

Zak sparker concern in Emmerdale (ITV)

@MickJohnPNEFC tweeted: "Poor old zak is looking peeky there by the way.....#emmerdale." @DionPetrie said: "Zak is looking ill #Emmerdale." @danielgilbert wrote: "Omg our Zak! He looks 108 omg #emmerdale."

Others, however, were just thrilled to see him. @TwellyWatcher cheered: "Yay Zak!! #Emmerdale all we needed was Dingle court and he came back." @redbay37 posted: "I love uncle Zak. Great to see him #emmerdale." @penniless_poet added: "Zak is back - the Don Corleone of the Dingles #Emmerdale."

Meanwhile, Emmerdale fans were also having their say over Caleb as they were divided over whether he should stay or go. @maggienedved shared: "I love Caleb and think he has a future in Emmerdale." @stephandharryandjack wrote: "I raise my hand for him to stay."

But @debbiemclaren_4 commented: "I raise my hand for him to go, He ruined moria's farm." @chinnyroberts argued: "He may of got Kyle out of jail and Cain from prison but not because they were family. He had a personal agenda. He even said “I’m not a Dingle I’m a Tate.” He can never be trusted. Let him back in he’ll make a fool out of the whole family."
