Emmerdale fans were left in shock by an off-screen death during this evening’s episode of the ITV soap.
As Emmerdale fans know, villain Pierce Harris has been in prison for some time following a series of terrible crimes.
The death of the character, who was played by former Coronation Street actor Jonathan Wrather, was revealed to viewers when Marlon Dingle saw a report stating the villain had died.

Viewers saw Marlon conflicted whether to tell her partner Rhona Goskirk, the tormented ex of Pierce Harris, of the soap bad boy’s death.
Unbeknownst to Marlon, partner Rhona was already aware of Pierce being terminally-ill.
