Emmerdale fans believe Meena has chosen the wrong victim as she makes her return to the ITV soap next week.
Spoilers ahead of next week's dramatic episodes reveal that Meena targets Billy and Dawn on their Valentine's Day wedding and makes her former lover Billy choose between her or Dawn in a terrifying gun showdown, which leaves lives hanging in the balance.
But viewers of the ITV soap are convinced that Meena has made the wrong choice of who to target now she is heading back to the village, as she had only dated Billy briefly and had a much longer fling with another resident.
Fans have taken to Twitter to question why Meena didn't return to take on David Metcalfe and Victoria Sugden, who Meena tried to kill all those months back during the terrifying bridge collapse during Super Soap Week.
One fan pondered: "Why exactly does Meena go after Billy & Dawn? Not David & Vic?
"Her & Billy weren't even together all that long. Literally lasted about all of 2 weeks whereas she was with David for months, even moving in. Is it purely cos Billy's actually going so far as to marry Dawn? #Emmerdale."
"Why is Meena not going after David & Victoria? He was the love of her life wasn’t he. Billy was only the rebound," a second added.
Some fans have questioned whether Meena was originally meant to return for David and Victoria's wedding on Valentine's Day, but it had to be changed after the actors Matthew Wolfenden and Isabel Hodgins were written out of the soap for a few weeks as Emmerdale looked into an alleged race row.
A third penned: "This Dawn, Billy and Meena saga sure feels like a rewrite because it would actually have made sense for it to have been David and Vic considering Meena was with Billy for a total of 5 minutes.
"This is why I am not invested and really could not give a toss about it #emmerdale."
Matthew and Isabel have since returned to the show, after they were accused of allegedly "mimicking" a co-star's accent on set.
A spokesperson for Emmerdale said at the time: "While we would never comment on individual cases, Emmerdale has robust policies in place to deal with any allegations brought to our attention and take the appropriate steps."
They have since returned to set and are back on screens for the ITV soap.
