Emmerdale fans 'rumble' who Nicky's friend Ally really is - and he's 'related to Caleb'

Emmerdale fans believe they've cracked the case over who newcomer Ally really is, and how he's linked to Nicky Miligan on the ITV soap.

Nicky was stunned and actually pretty annoyed to see the character in the village this week, and on Friday night he was seen avoiding his calls.

Ally was trying to get in contact with him for a mystery reason, having been shown the door the previous day.

He'd tracked Nicky down after finding out about his looming wedding to Gabby Thomas, and it was clear from Nicky's reaction that he was worried about him being there, and that he wanted him out of his life.

Nicky ended up threatening Ally to stay away, clearly worried he would expose him and his plan - as well as his fake feelings for Gabby.

Viewers know that Nicky is using Gabby as part of his plan to get his hands on her money. He's the secret son of Caleb Miligan, who is in the middle of a revenge plot against Kim Tate.

Caleb has enlisted Nicky's help to target his business partner Kim, planning to take everything she has including Home Farm.

What Gabby has no idea about is that Nicky is the grandson of Kim's ex-husband Frank Tate who died on the soap in 1997 - with Kim leaving him for dead.

Kim also stole loads of his money and Caleb wants "what he is owed", planning to destroy her and leave her with nothing.

What Nicky wasn't expecting though was for mystery 'friend' Ally to show up and complicate things, and now viewers think they have worked out who he is.

Many have guessed he is linked to Caleb, and that he could be Caleb's other son - after it was revealed recently that Caleb had more than one child.

Other fans are speculating he could be another Tate, or he could even be linked to another village family with links to Home Farm.

Taking to Twitter, one fan said: "Ally is definitely Nicky's brother," as a second added: "Is Ally Nicky's brother do you think?"

A third viewer said: "I think he is a King."

It follows Ally's appearance on the ITV soap on Thursday, and it was clear Nicky was not happy to see him.

As the pair walked into the Hop, Gabby and Nicky were spotted by a face from his past.

"I can’t believe it, what’s the chances of you walking through the door?" Gabby said as the man replied: "Mindblowing, isn’t it! If I’d known you were living around here, I’d have called or something. Me and Nicky go way back."

"You wouldn’t believe the things we got up to," he said, as Laurel excitedly replied: "You have to tell us everything!"

Ally then went on to tell Gabby that Nicky was "batting way above his average," as Nicky tried to shut down the conversation by saying: "Look, it’s been really nice catching up, but we’re kind of busy," but Gabby said the wedding plans could wait.

"See it can wait! I couldn’t believe it when I heard the news!" Ally said, as Nicky said he had planned to ring. "You got caught up in the magic! I think maybe he’s embarrassed by me!" Ally then added.

Fans were left puzzled by the new arrival - with some viewers sharing their theories about who the guy is and his connection to Nicky.

"If this new guy is Nicky’s ex-boyfriend then there is definitely something in the water in that village!! # emmerdale," one fan wrote, whilst a second added: "If that’s Nicky’s ex-boyfriend, then my assumption that he was gay was correct #Emmerdale."

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
