Emmerdale fans have rumbled Nicola's attacker - as they spotted a clue in last night's pub scenes.
Nicola was horrifyingly attacked by a group of young girls as she went out for a girls' night out with Bernice Blackstock and friend Laurel Thomas and now viewers of the ITV soap are sure they have worked out who was responsible.
The mum was attacked by the girls as a tearful and injured Nicola begged them to stop, with the teenagers just laughing and egging one another on as one girl continued to kick Nicola whilst she laid on the floor.
Now fans are sure they know who attacked her - and they're now a resident of the village.
Taking to Twitter, some fans suggested Charles Anderson's estranged daughter Naomi could be responsible for what happened. One girl who attacked her was not seen on screen, only a shot of her feet, but she did apologise.
"Someone said something about last night’s Emmerdale which I think makes sense," one fan penned, as they shared their theory on what was happening, "In Naomi’s first scene, her friend in the pub looked very similar to the person who attacked Nicola. I think Naomi was there and she was the one who apologised! #Emmerdale @emmerdale."
Another added: "Naomi with her pub friends. Nicola's attackers. Perfect match."
During the original attack, Nicola went to the car park to drive home after her friend and sister abandoned her and she came across two young girls knelt down on the floor, one of them was throwing up.
They asked Nicola for some booze but she told them they had had enough, as Nicola continued to make sarcastic comments, one of the girls got nasty as Nicola rushed back to her.
The other girls signalled to their other friends and they knocked her the floor and stole her bag, before going on to mock her and her family for their appearance. They threw her phone on the floor and chucked her keys away, telling her to "go fetch".
Fans found the scenes horrific to watch as Nicola was thrown to the floor and the girl began violently kicking her in the stomach.
Actor Kevin Mathurin - who plays Charles - shared his character's shock at finally spending time with Naomi.
"When Charles eventually finds Naomi, he doesn't know what to do. It's not in the way he planned. He finds a situation where it's getting a bit hostile, so he decides to intervene and it gets blurted out in a way it wasn't supposed to," he said.
"As soon as Charles saw the picture, all he wanted to do was meet Naomi and find out if she was alright. Whether the relationship goes forward or not, he just wanted to find out if she was alright."
