Emmerdale fans predict future Marcus twist after his 'detective' skills to find Charles' daughter Naomi

Emmerdale viewers have suggested there could be more than meets the eye with character Marcus Dean, who made a shock arrival in the village as the son of former villain Pierce Harris earlier this year. After making his first appearance in the Yorkshire soap back in February, he has since become a more permanent member after moving in with boyfriend Ethan Anderson.

But in scenes aired earlier this week, some Emmerdale fans pointed out his 'creepy' behaviour after he managed to track down Naomi, Charles' long-lost daughter and Ethan's sister. It came after Ethan received news that Naomi had gone missing and Charles was desperate to find her but had no clue where she would be or even what she looked like, The Mirror reports.

But Marcus, played by Darcy Grey, turned 'detective', and after searching social media apparently found a picture of her, which he revealed to the father and son. Neither Ethan or Charles had seen Naomi before, as they only realised she existed last year.

But whilst some viewers thought it was a lovely gesture, others feared it showed a new side to Marcus and that Ethan should watch out. Other soap fans even suggest Marcus could be plotting something.

Ryan tweeted: "Where is the proof that Charles's photo is of Naomi? Marcus could of picked anyone out of a line-up for all Charles knows. #Emmerdale."

Doreen Morfitt posted: "So Marcus basically telling Et that he has stalker skills - nothing to be worried about there then #Emmerdale."

Mick added: "Top stalkery from Marcus there #Emmerdale." While @PiksTube added: "Ewww that's a bit creepy Marcus #Emmerdale."

Viewer Jess also tweeted: "Still can’t work Marcus out still feeling there’s more to him/something he’s hiding.. #Emmerdale."

@TrapThumelina added: "I hope Marcus doesn't turn out bad but I feel like they made him Pierce's son for a reason... #Emmerdale." Owen posted: "Top detective work by Marcus, Swirling and Harriet should be shaking in their boots #Emmerdale."

Emmerdale fans may be onto something too, as speaking in June on the British Soap Awards red carpet, exclusively to the Mirror, Darcy teased that "time will tell" on how his story will "unfold". He said: "Let's just say everyone's been really, really nice and positive. I think everyone's expecting Marcus to be maybe a little bit more evil than they expected but time will tell about how that will unfold".

When he was quizzed on whether he would be involved in the 50th anniversary, the actor kept his cards close to his chest and replied: "I'm somewhat involved, maybe. I'll keep adding to this mysterious allure."

Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV and ITV Hub from 7.30pm.
