Emmerdale fans have praised a "small detail" in Paddy Kirk's heartbreaking storyline.
Paddy has been struggling with his mental health ever since finding out his wife Chas Dingle had an affair with the late Al Chapman. Unable to cope with his emotions, he left the village without telling anyone where he was going.
Worried friends and family members launched a huge search for the missing dad but he eventually called to tell his dad he needed space. Last week, Paddy returned to the village, but as predicted by viewers, he only came back to say goodbye after it was revealed he had planned to take his own life.

Powerful scenes then showed him telling his best friend Marlon Dingle that he didn't see a way through and no longer wanted to live. Marlon manages to talk him out of it but Paddy said he couldn't promise that he won't have similar thoughts again in the future.
Following weeks of worrying, his loved ones were elated when Paddy shared his plan to see a therapist. When asked how his first session went, he said: "I don't think I'll be seeing that one again. It just didn't feel right, we didn't connect."
Chas, trying not to appear too worried, asked: "So what's next?" To which Paddy replied: "Find someone else I suppose. One day at a time, eh?"
Emmerdale viewers loved how writers have been telling Paddy's mental health story and especially loved the detail in tonight's episode. Taking to Twitter, they shared their praise.
@CPTSDBiDisaster wrote: "I love this detail regarding Paddy actually, showing that it's not as simple as going to one therapist. People say 'get therapy' as if it is so simple. There are so many complexities and barriers, and here showing that the first one -or few - you try might not be right for you."
@LunaLocoJewels agreed, saying: "Some therapists are rubbish, it's important to find the right one you feel okay talking to."
And @TwellyWatcher gushed: "The acting for Paddy’s character has been amazing. If you could jump into the telly and hug anyone it would be him."
