Emmerdale fans point out unfortunate problem with missing Paddy storyline

The search continues for Paddy in Monday's episode of Emmerdale but fans pointed out an unfortunate aspect of the soap's storyline.

Police continued their search for missing Paddy Kirk in tonight's episode (February 13) of Emmerdale, leaving his family and ex-partner Chas Dingle extremely worried.

Paddy's neighbours were searching the village high and low to bring him home safely - but when police found CCTV of him in a village nearby they revealed they would 'scale back the search' implying Paddy has left home for a reason.

Fans of the ITV soap said it is the 'wrong time' for a missing person storyline to be on screens - this comes as the search for missing, Nicola Bulley, 45, enters its third week.

Of course, Emmerdale like other soaps is written and filmed weeks ahead of time, so there's no way ITV could have known that a national missing person search could have been going on when the episodes went out.

In Monday's episode police officers told Paddy's worried father and ex Chas that there has been a possible sighting of him in Skipdale at an ATM machine. After confirming the CCTV image was Paddy Chas was told he had took £200 out of the cashpoint and 'would probably be staying in a BnB.

As police weren't concerned over Paddy's disappearance they revealed they would be 'scaling' back the search. The news left Bear Wolf, Paddy's dad, in a rage of anger.

Fans of the show have hit out claiming it is the wrong time for the storyline to be aired - implying it is incentive to the news of missing mum-of-two, Nicola, hitting the headlines across the country.

One fan, @AndyGibsonTV wrote on Twitter: "Really bad timing for Emmerdale to do a Missing Person storyline. #Emmerdale #EmmerdaleFarm"

Other fans were hoping Paddy was OK as they shared their worry for him.

@VampLover27 tweeted: "Has anyone checked if Paddy’s passport is missing?? He could’ve jumped an easyJet flight somewhere warmer"

@gffcontwitch said: "He's not in danger? He sat in 3 different parts of the dales, spilled milk outside the pub then walked down a street at night, he's out of his own mind, I would say he's in mortal danger, bluddy"

@PJDavies1962 added: "Don't worry Bear I'll say a prayer for young Paddeh tonight"

@Baker_BCFC wrote: "They all need to do what's right for Paddy than keep arguing"
