Emmerdale fans have been left puzzled by Dawn and Billy's huge mistake after Meena shot Leyla.
The evil serial killer - played by Paige Sandhu - held the newly-married couple hostage on a viaduct in tonight's episode, after abducting them in the back of a white stretch limousine.
In harrowing scenes, Meena ended up shooting Dr Liam Cavanagh's wife Leyla, who was looking for the missing bride and groom and happened to locate them on the quiet viaduct.
However, fans were left puzzled by Billy and Dawn's reaction, as Meena turned her back on them to shoot at the moving car.
"There was ample opportunity to distract Meena when her back was turned but Billy and Dawn knowing Meena's capabilities just stood there!?!?," one wrote on Twitter.
A second added: "The gun has 6 bullets, apparently two may have been taken out. Maths says there's 4 bullets. Meena shoots 3 at Leyla, all the while Meena's back is turned to Billy and Dawn, who could have jumped her with potentially only 1 bullet left."
"I mean at this point seems like everyone wants to get killed by Meena, when she was shooting after Leyla why didn’t Billy punch her head in she her back to them #Emmerdale," a third shared.
A fourth wrote: "Why did Billy not let Dawn batter Meena #emmerdale I’d have kicked the s*** out of her , asked questions later."
"#emmerdale I lost count of how many times Billy was behind Meena but didn't tackle her. Meena drops her gun but did Billy pick it up; nope. Dawn has Meena on her back but Billy just stands there like a statue, then tries to pull her off," a fifth added.
Actress Roxy Shahidi recently teased to The Mirror that the shooting will have a huge effect on Liam.
"How much more will that man take? I don't know what else to say other than more devastation. I don't think it could get any worse for him," she said and asked if it could push him over the edge, she replied: "Oh god, yes. For sure.
"I think it's another opportunity for Liam and Leyla to become closer. I really think the tragedy of Leanna's death really tore them apart and going through this - as awful and horrendous as it is - really unites them."
