Emmerdale fans have been left "mind blown" by village bad boy Al Chapman's real name as it was revealed during last night's episode of the ITV soap following his brutal death.
Viewers heard a gunshot at the end of Monday night's episode after an explosive fight between Al and Cain, who found out the truth about Chas Dingle's affair with Al was.
During Tuesday's episode of the Yorkshire based soap it was revealed that Cain shot Al as he was seen holding a steaming shotgun and Al's dead body bleeding from a gunshot wound.

Fans were in disbelief follow Al's demise as actor, Michael Wildman, bowed out of his role following a three year stint. However, there was once detail that shocked viewers even more than his unforeseen death.
Al's real name was revealed during a scene that saw Cain Dingle arrested for his murder and it took many viewers by surprise. It seems most people presumed the bad boy's full name was Alan or Albert.
Of course it wasn't long before Twitter was flooded with comments as fans shared their disbelief at finding out Al's real name was in fact Allister Chapman.
One Emmerdale fan penned: "I'm more shocked that his name is Alistair, didn't think that was his name....maybe Alan." A second social media user said: "Woody was an ALISTAIR!!!" as a third wrote: "Alistair?!"
Another shocked viewer tweeted: "You killed Alister Chapman, I so wish Cain had replied who the f*** is Alister." While a fifth agreed: "That was my look too when the police officer said Alistair."
Cain was forced to say goodbye to his wife Moira and their children after armed police shortly turned up at his home and took him to police station
Chas was left speechless after discovering that her brother had killed her secret lover and went straight to the pub to let everyone know.
Despite Cain committing a crime, viewers have been left begging show boss to not write off Cain’s character or send him to jail.
One Cain Dingle fan tweeted: “So is Cain actually leaving? Cos I can't see him getting out of this #emmerdale.” A second commented: “Hope Cain ain’t leaving tbh, he's a good character #emmerdale.”
While a third wrote: “Glad Al’s gone but don’t want Cain in prison for years #emmerdale.” A fourth viewer agreed: “I’m glad Al's dead but if it means Cain in jail then I don’t want it #emmerdale.”
