Emmerdale fans have theory on how Suzy could be linked to Holly Barton's death

Emmerdale fans think they know how newcomer Suzy Merton could be linked to the soap's tragic Holly Barton.

Holly was found dead in her bed by her mum, Moira, back in 2016. She had suffered a heroin overdose that ultimately took her life.

It has been confirmed that episodes next week will reveal Suzy and Holly knew each other. Spoilers show that Suzy panics when she recognises Holly in a photo at Moira Dingle's house, and learns she is dead.

After acting irrationally and running out of the barn, Leyla notices the odd behaviour from Suzy and questions her about it. Suzy is forced to confess that she knew Holly when she was alive. Suzy soon opens up with some encouragement from Leyla, but what she tells her leaves her friend overwhelmed.

Fans on Twitter think they have figured out why the new character was so rattled. They shared their thoughts and theories.

One user said: "Petition for flashback episode of Suzy and Holly. Suzy scored Holly the last drugs that killed her maybe?! #emmerdale."

L said: "Is Suzy one of those types that gets people hooked on drugs or something? I’ve seen people say about Holly and Moira being a potential connection and it’s plausible. #emmerdale."

Darren said: "Could she be the one behind her death? Wasn’t expecting that, but what a good twist."

Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7.30pm on ITV and the ITV Hub
