Emmerdale's Gabby Thomas was left stunned at the end of tonight's episode after asking her husband-to-be to adopt her son, only for him to drop a wedding day bombshell.
Gabby, who was due to marry Nicky, offered for Nicky to formerly adopt her son. Fans had already complained Gabby seeing Nicky before the wedding was inviting bad luck, but the worst was yet to come.
Nicky not only turned the proposal down, but he dropped a bombshell - well sort of - that he was gay. Nicky is actually in love with a man called Ally and for weeks viewers have been aware the proposed wedding is a sham.
When Gabby then asked Nicky to adopt her little boy, this prompted Nicky to explain that he couldn't do it - and he couldn't marry Gabby either, because he's gay. Prior to the bombshell, fans had taken to Twitter to warn that two things were a sign the wedding wouldn't happen. Some fans pointed out the glaringly obvious reason - the bride met the groom.
Other fans however, mentioned just how "over the top" the wedding plans and decorations were. Something they said was a sure sign the wedding would fail.

A number of fans also aired suspicions Kim knows the truth about Caleb's dirty plot to have Nicky marry Gabby. On Twitter, fans theorised Caleb's game was up.
