Emmerdale viewers saw Ellis get close to ex-girlfriend Belle Dingle during Tuesday's instalment - and it caused some confusion.
Not so long ago Ellis was seen growing close to Priya Sharma, whose recent trauma led to a relapse of her eating disorder.
Priya - who is the ex of Ellis' dad Al - had to take some time off work to recover from the burns she sustained during the soap’s survival challenge week.

Between her injuries and her poor mental health, Priya has had quite an ordeal.
Ellis confessed she was the love of his life and promised to wait for her. But it seems he has now changed his mind.
Taking to Twitter, some viewers were confused and disappointed with his decision.
Conor Moran said: "Thought Priya was the love of Ellis life, and he was going to wait for her! #Emmerdale"
Ryan Glendenning said: "Not feeling Ellis and Belle at all. Ellis should be with Priya."
Deluca Evans said: "When did Ellis do a complete u turn away from priya he was still hung up on her a couple weeks ago but now they are acting like him and belle are star crossed lovers"
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV and ITV Hub with an additional episode at 8pm on Thursdays
